With fewer than a thousand residents, it’s the kind of place that feels like a true escape — a storybook town where agricultural roots run deep. Local wineries, a flower farm, a yearly fair, and a farmer’s market keep the community closely tied together. As Visit California notes, Plymouth is both a, “…a terrific destination for wine lovers as well as anyone looking for a Gold Country escape.” That timeless, small-town feel set the tone for Jalyssa and Chancho’s session perfectly.

Jalyssa and Chanco’s history runs deep, and it shows in the way they interact with each other. They met for the first time at a party in high school and dated for a few months before graduation and a big move separated them for over five years. But when you know, you know, and they found their way back to each other years later. When asked how they would describe their relationship, they answered ‘joyful’ and after spending the afternoon with them, I agree wholeheartedly.
Jalyssa & Chanco heard of me through a friend, and before booking me as their wedding photographer, they decided to start the engagement session process. They completed their questionnaires which helped me plan and strategize the storytelling engagement session they hoped for from the beginning. Client experience is extremely important to me! It convinced these two to secure me as their wedding photographer following their engagement shoot. They told me they loved my work and were excited to have booked me as their photographer (which, of course, made my entire day!)

I’m a firm believer that galleries shouldn’t just be beautiful, they should feel like the people in the photos. For Jalyssa & Chanco, the goal was a relaxed story telling session that focused on the heart of their relationship , and we nailed it. The engagement shoot itself was lighthearted, playful, and romantic. Jalyssa made a quick outfit change to highlight the more casual side of their relationship, while the couple’s laughter never stopped from start to finish. Their property offered the dreamiest backdrop: wide open fields, glowing oak trees, and even their little goat farm. As the sun dipped low, the golden light wrapped around them, letting their love run wild in every frame.
Looking Ahead to an Amador County Wedding
Later this fall, Jalyssa and Chancho will exchange vows at Cazadd Cellars. They’ll be keeping it close to home at this gorgeous local winery. Known for its sweeping views of the vineyard and rolling hills of California wine country, this venue is an excellent choice for this couple. I am eagerly counting down the days to their ceremony! With the beauty of the surrounding landscape and their love front & center, it promises to be a day just as meaningful and joy-filled as their engagement session.
