Worried you might be forgetting something? Lets break this important day into bite size pieces starting with your wedding details. I have curated a list for your wedding details + some must have details that can really make your wedding day special.
Something to note: Your wedding details DO NOT need to be over the top. Consider the overall vibe of the day. For example, if you’re going for a simple wedding you probably don’t need luxury details and if you’re going for luxury wedding, you probably do need luxury wedding details that flow seamlessly. Ultimately keep in mind that sometimes less is more and also that you can have a budget wedding with amazing details.
Lets Dive In!

Step One: What kind of wedding are you planning? (rustic, modern, traditional, fairytale etc)
Narrowing down the kind of wedding you’re planning will be key to setting up the fundamentals. It’s important to give your self the ground layer so you can build from this idea. This will avoid having to many styles competing for space.

Step Two: Color Scheme!
Start to plan up a color pallet that will compliment your theme. Things to consider:
- At least 3-5 Colors : 2 bold + 3 soft supporting colors
- Make sure they compliment each other. Avoid picking colors that are on different ends of the color wheel so that it isn’t too distracting.
- Think about the location of your wedding! Colors should compliment the area as well.
- Don’t forget your personality! If you want colors based on your favorites you can find ways to incorporate this without overdoing it.
- When picking colors, think of textures also! Linen, silk, lace etc but we will talk about this next!
Step Three: Textures!
Different textures can add to your overall wedding theme and its usually really easy to find different textures in the colors you’ve landed on. You might be wondering “but where and how can I incorporate texture?” I’ve got you!
Texture can be delicately placed all through out your wedding events from the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Table cloth and table decor can easily provide textures! Your floral arrangements may need to be in vases or jars which may have lace or ribbon. If you have curtains in a ball room, the bouquet, boutonniere, desert table, napkins, alters, glass and drink ware, the furniture and things of that nature! Honestly, texture is the easiest and arguable the most fun part.
Step Four: Start piecing together what you’ve got thus far from the previous steps.
This is where I remind you that Pinterest is your best friend! You can easily organize a Pinterest board to reflect the theme, color scheme, textures and furniture that you’ll now want to start thinking about. This will become a visual aid for you to see a rough draft of how everything is pairing together. You can create multiple boards for each part of your wedding day or you can add everything you love and unscramble it to help get you a better idea of how you’d like things to start to look.

Step Five: Start shopping around!
You probably have a far more clear idea of what your wedding details will look like and now its time for the hardest part. Finding everything! Remember, DIYs are a great place to begin if you’re not in the market for purchasing a whole lot.
